Ocean Confidence Session with Acorn Project x Yonder

These sessions are a great way to set aside some time for yourself and feel the benefits of the ocean.
They provide a chance to build confidence in the water at a relaxed and supported pace and feel the sense of freedom that it offers.
Women who have attended these courses have said that “the freedom you feel in the sea is amazing, I know that am am getting healing throughout this opportunity.”
What will we do?
We provide everything you need to be comfortable in the sea, you can try surfing, body surfing, dipping and just generally work on building ocean confidence. We have high quality boards & equipment, women’s wetsuits, boots, gloves & hoods if needed!
We have always ensured that our session sizes are small to ensure everyone attending gets the attention and support necessary to learn and feel comfortable at their own individual pace.
Who are they for?
This club is aimed at those that might not otherwise feel like they can access the sea, it’s a chance to help you become more connected and knowledgeable about the amazing therapy that is on your doorstep. The sessions are all run by Sally, a highly experienced, qualified coach and surfer. each session is taken slowly and allows you the opportunity to explore and enjoy the areas that you feel most comfortable in. There is no pressure to ‘achieve’ or expectations placed on you.
Simply an opportunity to have fun and feel free and meet like-minded women.
Like in all sessions we will focus on general ocean confidence, building and understanding of the different conditions and impact of tides, winds, swell on wave formation.
Important:
Due to the very nature of unpredictable conditions we may not always have swell so will run paddle technique sessions or sea swimming (dipping) if safe to do so. If we have dangerous conditions you will be contacted and attempts will be made o rearrange.
Please be advised that the conditions will not always be perfect but we will need them to be safe. These sessions are intended to ‘go out whatever the conditions,' a way of understanding our sea better which is often the reality of the North Sea but if we have unfavourable winds I may also try and rearrange for another date during that week. Flat sessions are recognised as important in our surf journey as it is often during these sessions that we grasp board control and paddle techniques.

Sally is a qualified Level 2 ASI Instructor and RLSS LifeGuard with over 20 years of experience surfing in the North Sea, this is a great opportunity to learn to build confidence with a passionate and experienced instructor.
