Due to popular demand we are pleased to be offering a Scarborough Improvers Surf Camp! The camp will be limited to six spaces in order to ensure maximum input for each guest.

*An improver is classed as someone who has already had a number of lessons or who has tried surfing a number of times but is now wanting to progress on to the next level, they are starting to catch green waves, turn and wanting to know about more detailed surf forecasting. If you are an absolute beginner and have never tried surfing before I recommend the beginner camp in September.

Scarborough is a place I hold very dear as it is where I learnt to surf. There are a number of quality beach breaks in the area to chose from depending on conditions. Scarborough is also probably a lot closer by train than you think. We love the East Coast! We are also able to do pick up and drop offs to and from Scarborough train station.

The accommodation for the weekend is in really cool Safari tents on a quiet campsite just out of town, conveniently located for the surf.

We will take guests to the best break on each day and provide tuition and feedback in order to develop everybody’s surfing to the next level. The camp will be a great opportunity to surf with like-minded women in a safe and supportive environment.

In order to get the most out of the weekend some previous surfing experience is necessary; the ability to paddle for, catch and pop up on white water waves is required. Get in touch if you are unsure if this is for you, we can have a chat and see which camp might be best - there is a beginners camp September 13th weekend.

We provide -

  • Meals for the weekend

  • Transport to spots

  • All equipment if needed - you can bring your own of course.

  • Two two hour surf sessions per day (Sat, Sunday & Monday am)

  • Surf forecasting and theory tips

  • Photo feedback sessions - absolutely essential to help build confidence and improve. We are really lucky to have the talented @tombingphoto on board to document the weekend and help give specific feedback about your surfing.

  • Surf movie night

  • Beautiful photos for you to keep

  • Yonder give-away, Stance Socks and more!

All lessons are taught by Sally McGee, experienced surfer and ASI Accredited surf coach.

The tents are super warm with heaters and electricity and proper beds! There is a double bed option and bunk beds so to make it fair it's an extra 20 pound supplement for the double bed but you'll need to get in early - first to email me gets the bed! The bunk beds are great and super comfy though! The campsite has hot showers and nice clean toilet facilities. Yonder is a family run business, expect good vibes, hearty veggie food and a lovely trip with likeminded ladies.

Any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch on info@surfyonder.com.

  • Important Disclaimer - Unfortunately, due to the very nature dependent reality of surfing we cannot necessarily guarantee good surf conditions. We always run our camps in areas that are more consistent and during the more consistent swell months in order to increase the potential for good conditions. If the surf is flat we will hire Stand Up Paddle boards and explore the coastline and sea swim (gentle sea swim!) at Flamborough head!

  • Refunds are not available unless we are able to find a replacement well in time.

* WE are super proud to add that we will have the amazing Steve Crawford from Fluid Concept Surf with us during the weekend. Steve has been a personal mentor to both me and Tom and we are super honoured to have him join us and give you all helpful tips!
