friday

Check in is available from 4pm but guests are more than welcome to arrive earlier. Once you have checked in, take time to relax and wind down after your journey. The mile long beach is at the end of the street and the bustling village is just around the corner with shops, cafe's and some great bars.

5pm meet and greet at the house as a chance to get to know each other, have a glass of wine or a cuppa followed by a walk down to the beach and see where we will be surfing over the next few days.

7.30pm - A three course evening meal will be served at the guesthouse. We have booked out the entire house for the surf retreat so we can all make ourselves feel at home. The kitchen has a huge dinning table with an open fire (not expecting to need it!) for that family feel. Food will be served with wine and will be a good combination of hearty but healthy.

After the meal we have the opportunity for a fire on the beach (weather permitting) or a movie night (we have plenty of inspiring female surf films to chose from) or just an early night depending on how you are feeling.

SATURDAY

Breakfast will be served between 8 and 9am. After breakfast we will get our wetsuits on, grab the boards and head down to the beach for the first beginners surf lesson.

10 - 12pm First beginner surf lesson: Here you will be taught how to identify parts of a surf board, how to feel safe and confident in the surf, how to recognise waves and to catch waves. We will teach you how to paddle effectively, how to pop up and stand on your surfboard. All surf lessons are combined with a warm up/stretches to get your body and mind ready for the session.

12.30pm Break for lunch: We will head back up to the guest house where lunch will be served. There will be access to plenty of tea and coffee throughout the weekend, in fact the kitchen is yours too to access!

2 - 4pm The second surf lesson - during the lesson we will work on skills learnt during the first session but have a wider look at water safety, how to position yourself around other surfers in the water, surf etiquette and of course more practice at standing up with the opportunity to surf unbroken waves wherever possible. During this session the fantastic Tom Bing will be taking photos of the session which will be used later in the evening during a surf feedback session. Photography can be really powerful for identifying issues to work on in surfing.

By this time we expect you to be pretty tired out but if you fancy a bit of a free surf then feel free to do so!

Back to the guest house for showers and down time before the evening meal is served.

8pm Evening meal served. Three course meal with some wine.

9pm Feedback photos shared - inspirational female surf short films.

SUNDAY

8 - 9am Breakfast served

10 - 12am Final surf lesson working on individual, targeted feedback. There will be the opportunity to try surfing on the Yonder fibreglass boards if you are keen to experience 'improver surfboards.' All lessons sizes are kept to a maximum of 8 women so tuition is really focussed and personalised.

1pm - The famous Riley's Fish Shack for lunch. This is located down on King Edwards Bay, the beautiful cove just around the point. Here, weather dependent, we can either eat our lunch on the beach or in the cosy shack.

Afternoon free surf - guests are welcome to use the equipment to head out and surf in the afternoon. If you are keen to stay an extra night we can send links to local accommodation but there is the opportunity to hire out our four berth motorhome if you're keen!
